Richard attends historic WHO Congress in Beijing
Richard Brown has just returned from Beijing after attending the first World Health Organisation Congress on Traditional Medicine in Beijing.
Richard, who attended as part of the UK delegation from the British Chiropractic Association of which he is currently Vice-President, was excited by the event, which culminated in an agreed joint statement from the WHO and assembled government representatives from all over the world. The statement called for greater utilisation of manual therapy and an integration of techniques into mainstream medicine. The Congress was opened by the Director General of the World Health Organisation, Margaret Chan, who called for closer collaboration between the complementary and orthodox medical professions, saying that they need not clash.
This is echoed by Richard, who is the Clinic Director of The Lansdown Clinic in Stroud. With a range of specialists from general medicine to aromatherapy, Richard is keen to see integrated medicine achieve greater prominence in the years ahead.
Richard is pictured with President of the British Chiropractic Association, Anthony Metcalfe outside the Birds Nest Stadium, Beijing.
