Both fall under the umbrella of ‘manual therapy’. Chiropractors specialise in the spine and the nervous system.
They use a diversified range of techniques, such as mobilisation/manipulation of the spine and surrounding areas, including the neck and hips,
where the technique is called adjusting/manipulation, whereas a Physiotherapist tends to work more on soft tissue techniques to ligaments, tendons and muscles. Both types of treatment include rehabilitation exercises however, Physiotherapists tend to focus more on this to include stretch, strength & stability exercises.
At The Lansdown Clinic, the practitioners often work together drawing on each other’s strengths and experience within the specialities providing the
best evidence based ethical care to each individual.
